Risk management allows for the classification of activities or events based upon the likelihood of their outcome occurring into groups which can be managed accordingly.
To assist with the management of the identified risk item a risk mitigation activity is also identified. The risk mitigation item is the action that will be undertaken to minimise or eliminate the risk. Many risks can not be completely eliminated and therefore the mitigation will help to reduce either the likelihood of the risk occurring or the severity of the consequence if the risk does occur.
The table below outlines the matrix used by Carinity in the assessment of resident outings.
This helps Carinity staff better asses the risks involved with a proposed activity and help all involved being fully informed of the potential risks and plan for the management of the risk should it occur.
